There are numerous abends that start with AEI or AEY. They indicate that an exception has occured, and RESP (or NOHANDLE) is not is use. The last character indicates the exact error . All abends issued by CICS code start with the letter "A". If the abend code starts with some other letter it was issued by some other product or by a user program. If you are seeing these abend codes in a CICS message then either the program or the transaction ID that issued the abend will also be included in the message.
